Christmas Club

November 2010

We hope that the Unique Sheep Christmas Club will be the start of a series of “One off” clubs. These will be just a single shipment, and have a specific theme that merits a much more generous amount of yarn and goodies than is in our standard club packages.

My favorite Holiday socks are getting a little worn out so it is time for a new pair. That is a great excuse for a new pattern and new colorway or two! You will have a choice of receiving either Noel Green, or Noel Red, in a 200 gram set of Gradiance yarn, plus yarn to make a fancy cuff, which will be plenty to make the toasty knee socks or stockingJanine has designed. Here is a note from Janine about her design:

When Kelly and Laura asked me if I would like to design a Christmas themed sock or stocking I was delighted. I immediately had a vision of an old fashioned, Victorian style dressing gown – the sort of thing that scrooge might wear in a heavy brocade fabric with a fur collar.
This is what inspired the design. A heavily textured, brocade like stitch pattern, topped with a fluffy cuff and of course leg shaping adds up to a fun knee sock that you can wear over the holidays. Not into knee socks? Hold the yarn double and make a beautiful Christmas stocking to hang on you mantel on Christmas Eve.

Christmas time means getting unexpected packages filled with wonderful things and we plan on adding all sorts of Holiday themed treats to your club boxes.

Announcements and conversation will take place on the Ravelry group board so please join us there! The designer (Janine le Cras) and the dyers (Kelly Eells and Laura Lough) will be active on the Ravelry board as well as on Plurk to answer questions about the pattern and cheer you on!
