Amani

The Doctors without Borders colorway helped us to raise so much money that we have decided to create colorway inspired by another worthy cause. The Amani Children's Foundation is an organization devoted to the AIDS orphan children of Kenya. Not only have they saved the lives of hundreds of infants, they also introduce American youth to the realities and needs of the world through service trips to Africa.

If you would like to help us support this organization, simply buy a skein of yarn in the colorway. We will donate 50% of sales of any yarn or roving in this colorway to the organization.

Pick a yarn.

In partnership with two of our designers, DaoBot and Karen Webb Johnston, we are offering two sock patterns designed to show off the Amani colorway and to represent the ideals embodied by the organization.100% of sales from these patterns are donated. Thats right, neither the Unique SheepEntwined Sock nor the designers are taking any payment from pattern sales but instead we are donating every penny to the Amani Children's Foundation.

Karen's pattern, Entwined (right), is suitable for beginner/intermediate knitters with a basic understanding of sock construction. Though it looks complicated, the mock cables don't even require a cable needle!

Dao's pattern is a more complex cabled work of art entitled the Tree of Life (left) . This toe-up sock requires a basic understanding of toe-up construction, including how to do a short row heel and either a short row or figure-8 toe. This pattern is still in the works but hopefully will be available soon!

This colorway is available on all of our base yarns, this is just a sampling!
