Nature's Gold

"This photograph was taken during my long hours working at the studio for a printmaking and designing project for class. One of the long time artists whom I had the fortune of meeting, loved to collect little itty bitty things that fall to the ground. Then she rendered them beautifully on paper. Her work made me realize all the small simple delicate things I miss out on when I walk too fast, or if I'm consumed in my own little world. Being aware of little treasure on the roads or anyplace is important - it adds to one's personal experiences of life.

"I picked up this fantastic richly-colored pine cone on the sidewalk to class. The color was mesmerizing . I took a series of photographs using this acorn pine cone as my still life subject. I love that Laura named it Nature's Gold; it perfectly describes the joy and excitement I felt when I found it. Today's views are changing and we are more protective of nature's delicate balance. So let this inspires everyone to look carefully and let your surroundings bring you happiness."
