Dear Customer,
As temperatures rise, its time for a light weight, summery yarn like Eos. Eos is a laceweight yarn, so is perfect for knitting warm weather projects as there will be nothing heavy on you lap as you knit and the resulting garment is light as air and beautiful to wear.

Yarn Properties
Color Quality
Eos dyes up in subtle, shimmery shades. There tends to be a lot of blending on the skein and colorways turn out softer and lighter than on other yarns.
Fiber Qualities
50/50 Merino and Tussah Silk. The silk content of Eos makes it soft and shimmery! Like many of our silk blends, the silk used in Eos is tu ssah silk. For this reason the yarn has a natural sheen rather than a bright shine. This is our most substantial lace weight yarn and is lovely to work with.
Weight & Put Up
1260 yards in 4 ounces
Wash & Care Instructions
Handwash only (were you really going to machine wash something you knit out of lace weight?)

Pattern Recommendations
Lace Scarves and Shawls
Any of our lovely lace shawl and scarf patterns can be knit in Eos. Just remember that you may need to go down a needle size or two in order to achieve a gauge that you like, and that the resulting shawl may be a bit thinner than the dimensions given.
Emma
Lace doesn't need to be restricted to shawls and scarves. Why not knit a sweet summer top to pair with capris or a cute skirt? I'm about to cast on my own Emma cardigan, won't you join me?
Bordeaux
You may have noticed that many of our lace patterns have been designed by Janine le Cras. Janine recently had two of her designs published in a new book, Knitting in the Sun, and her lace shawl Bordeaux would be perfect for Eos! |
