The Unique Sheep’s Super Easy, Basic Ribbed Hat

Yarn: 1 skein of Super Wool (held double)
Needles: size 8 double pointed needles, optional: size 8, 16" circular needle
Gauge: 4.5 sts = 1”
Size: adult medium
Cast on 10sts, join for knitting in the round
Tip: Begin with double pointed needles; as number of stitches increases, switch to circular needle when necessary or, if you prefer, continue on DPNs
Row 1: (k1,p1) across
Row 2: increase (20sts)
Rows 3-5: Repeat Row 1
Row 6: increase (40sts)
Rows 7-9: Repeat Row 1
Row 10: increase (80sts)
Rows 11-14: Repeat Row 1
Row 15: * m1k, (k1, p1) 4 times, repeat from * across (90sts)
Row 16: *k2, p1, (k1,p1) 3 times, repeat from * across
Continue without shaping in pattern, knitting the knit stitches, purling the purl stitches until hat measures 9” from cast on for plain edge or 11” for a turned up cuff.
Bind off in pattern.
